AIM is currently serving as the public engagement consultant for the City of Sacramento’s Meadowview Road & 24th Street Streetscape Improvements Project. The project is the City’s plan to continue to make Meadowview Road and 24th Street friendlier for bicycles and pedestrians. The project will also enhance the aesthetics and create a sense of place along the streets by adding center road medians with landscaping, monument signage, and pavement treatments at crosswalks. The goal of the engagement program is to actively engage previously underrepresented local neighborhoods and businesses and receive feedback on proposed improvements. As part of the engagement program, the project team has met with after school programs at three local elementary schools to talk to the children about the project, and their experience walking and biking along Meadowview Road and 24th Street. In addition, the project team is actively coordinating with the Meadowview Neighborhood Association to ensure that local residents are engaged in the planning process. The engagement program includes: outreach and engagement with local youth organizations and schools, stakeholder database development, and coordination and facilitation of stakeholder focus groups and community workshops.
- AIM was instrumental in developing and implementing successful communications strategies that highlighted the District's efforts to both a local and regional audience.
